Ever

Ever

Having listened to what became ProgRock from the Mid-1960’s onwards - in addition, currently my musical repertoire takes in Classical, Soul, Motown, Folk / Traditional, Blues and Jazz (and anything in-between) - I can say without any hesitation that IQ have something particularly special about the music they offer.
Not only that, but, in terms of “Ever”, I would not even single-out any one musician, or particularly, one track on it that stood-out and outshone any other across the entire album. Simply stated, this is a superb album and deserves a far-wider audience that it seemingly has achieved so far!
IQ have clearly crafted the music they produce as a Band over several+ decades and the 2-DVD set released in 2007 of “For Ever Live”, also recorded in 1993, is testament to the fact that IQ have an exemplary stage-presence and a unique way of communicating who they are and what it is they create, to a Live audience. Essentially, any of the tracks on this album would make an outstanding closing-number to a Live IQ concert, even today.
IQ’s “Ever” then, the 1993 [GEPCD 1006] release, features Paul Cook (percussion), Mike Holmes (guitars, etc.), John Jowitt (Bass, etc.), Peter Nicholls (Vocal-chords, etc.) and on the keyboards Martin Orford (backing-vocals too!) and six outstanding tracks. In these days of the 1-pence CD album on MM, I paid £8.25 to get this CD and I firmly believe that it was I who received the bargain! I can highly recommend that you too find a similar bargain, play it, enjoy it, get to know and Love “Ever”!!!
