We were all shocked and saddened by the sudden death of long time friend and crew member of IQ, Janet Smith, after the second show in Bury in February this year. Jan was one of the finest friends any of us could wish for - a kind and loving part of the IQ family and always an absolute pleasure to be with. Music, humour, art and love were her language and she loved to share them all freely with as many people as she could. She was also a passionate believer in equal rights for everyone and could often be seen or heard to be defending the poorly treated, the downtrodden and the less fortunate.

 

From the very early days of the band playing to one person and their dog, to great holidays in Europe, America and beyond we're so glad that we got to share so many wonderful times with Jan over the last forty years and although we'll miss her like crazy we'll always remember her fondly and with love in our hearts. Things will be a little different from now on, but we know she'll be with us wherever we are.
